The Wind in the Willows
Thank you, the music, song and sound is stunning…the harmonies, the instrumentation, there’s too much to list, it’s all so gorgeous
Julia Samuels, Director
A funny, joyful and timeless tale of friendship, loyalty, honesty, ambition and consequences. Performed by a talented ensemble of 6 and staged in the beautiful cockpit theatre at Shakespeare North Playhouse this production of Kenneth Grahame’s classic story captivated audiences of all ages. Nov 2023 – Jan 2024
Sarah says...
‘I was thrilled to be invited to work with Shakespeare North on their Christmas family show. I had the chance to collaborate with a wonderful movement director, Grace Goulding, who brought so much life, ambition, humour and inventiveness to the numbers. Although I did compose some original music for this production I also really enjoyed arranging and bringing to life the songs composed by Ivan Stott. I was very lucky to have a versatile ensemble of six with strong and characterful voices, three of whom also perform with various live instruments throughout the show.’

Friendship is at the heart of the show throughout. The songs by Ivan Stott and musical direction by Sarah Llewellyn contributed perfectly to the sense of community with the charming, cheerful melodies and the energy of live music.
