About Sarah

Inventive and versatile Sarah composes for, and records with, exceptional, skilful and specialist musicians. Always striving for a fresh and distinctive sound she creates original scores, soundscapes and electro-acoustic works.

She has written for orchestras, chamber ensembles, choirs, circus bands, vocalists and electronics.

In 2023 Sarah was a judge for the Ivor Novello Awards and had a Royal invitation to Windsor Castle.

Musical highlights....

include Dickens in Hong Kong, running away with the circus, Shakespeare under the midnight sun, a giant baby and her composer in residence with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Current projects include...

A TALE OF TWO CITIES – Chung Ying Theatre, THE SIGNALMAN – BBC Radio 4 Drama, ART FOR CURE– Breast cancer charity film, Lorca’s YERMA adaptation by Ursula Rani Sarma, WIND IN THE WILLOWS – Shakespeare North Playhouse and 37 PLAYS– RSC.

Composition, arrangement, orchestration, music directing, sound design, music production, recording, performing, workshop leading and teaching.

She is represented by Kate Weston, Fillingham Weston Associates.

Charity and community outreach

Sarah has just written and recorded the music for film ART FOR CURE a Breast Cancer charity film. Over the pandemic she wrote the song, Hold Fast with G Winstanley and J Fox for a well being NHS film by Wake The Beast, she also ran creative online workshops and worked as composer with Afrocats – a charity working with refugees and asylum seekers in Manchester. Sarah has produced music for UK Charity Abortion Rights films and she continues to collaborate with her sister, Leah, on films for ReachAnother Foundation – a medical charity working in Ethiopia for babies with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
