'Listening to her we are enthralled by the vivid variety of sounds, styles and techniques that she brings to this ages-old yet ultra-modern musical discipline, and she infuses her performances with a freshness, lightness and integrity that are rare in many other young musicians. Moreover Karen adds to these qualities a drama and excitement in her playing that exemplify the percussive art and take it to new heights, and we see and hear virtuosity that leaves us astonished'

David Corkhill - principle of The Philharmonia
